Weber Gas Grill Replacement Parts
Guide To Weber Gas Grill Replacement Parts
Gas grills are typically expensive and complex devices; so finding Weber gas grill replacement parts can extend the life of your gas grill and save you considerable amounts of money. But before can order the right replacement parts, you should have a somewhat basic understanding of your grill and its parts.
Burners. The burner is a hollow, tube-like structure at the bottom of the grill that provides the heat for cooking. Most grills only have a single burner and oftentimes the burner forms the shape of a capital H, but it can also be oval, a figure eight, or other shapes. Some grills, typically more expensive models, have multiple burners that are usually straight. They are comprised of gas inlet holes in one or more key areas and outlet ports along the length of the burner.
Because burners are located at the bottom of the grill, drippings from cooking meat cause them to be the first thing to usually wear out. The dripping are often very corrosive because of their moisture and acidity, which causes the burners to rust easy. A typical burner will only last one to five years.
Cooking Grids. Cooking grids, also known as grates, are the surface that the food is cooked on in a grill. Unless you have a stainless steal cooking grid, this is usually the next thing to need replacing after burners. Steal grids are the most expensive and are usually so durable that they usually will have a lifetime warranty. Porcelain-coated cast iron and porcelain-coated steal are at the mid-level followed by the least expensive and shortest lasting, chrome-plated steal.
Rock Grates and Heat Shields. Rock grates and heat shields serve similar purposes in that they both protect the burner from corrosive meat drippings and help disperse heat. Rock grates are cheap and usually hold either lava rock or ceramic briquettes, but they often are not protected and rust quickly. Heat shields, which go by a number of other names are usually found in newer models and are much lighter than rock grates.
Valves. Over time, valves will wear out and become rusted, making them difficult to operate. Unfortunately, replacement valves must be exactly the same as the original. This makes replacements hard to come by or expensive. Usually when a valve fails, the grill is disposed of.
Miscellaneous Parts. There are a great deal of other parts that can be replaced on a Weber grill, the above listed parts are some of the more critical. Handles, heat gauges, condiment trays, and other parts are amongst them.
When choosing replacement parts, there are many after market manufacturers. After market parts are a great way to save money. However, make sure that when you find replacement parts that they are meet the same specifications as recommended by your Weber owners manual.
Gas grills cost a lot of money and when something breaks, most people do not want to invest in a brand new grill. Many people, instead opt for Weber gas grill replacement parts to save them the large cost of buying a new grill. Having a basic knowledge of these parts will save you valuable time and money.
